Remember this one COID rule and your employees are sure to always get the compensation they need

by , 10 September 2014
If your employee is injured, he may need compensation to cover doctor's bills and other expenses. This is why COID exists. It helps employees in these situations by paying compensation.

The sad thing is COID often rejects a lot of these claims on technicalities.

But there's something you can do about it.

If you follow this one COID rule to a T, your employees are sure to always get the compensation they need...

Never forget this one COID rule

When it comes to COID you must always remember to submit all the correct documents at the right time. This is a vital rule because it's a legal requirement.

This is often the reason the Compensation Commissioner rejects claims because employers don't submit the correct documents

This isn't something your employee should suffer with because you forget a document.

That's why you need to send in:

1. An accident report;
2. A doctor's report. This must clearly detail your employee's injuries and what he'll need to recover;
3. A follow on doctor's reports if your employee doesn't improve; and
4. A return to work document.

To ensure  the Commissioner doesn't reject the claim and say you didn't submit everything when you did, follow this simple step

Here's how to prove you sent in all the right documents

Keep copies of all of the records and when you send them find a way to document it. For example, take a photograph of the documents with something, such as a newspaper, to prove the date or send them by courier.

By doing this, you'll have some recourse if there's an admin error on the other side that says you didn't submit your documents.

So follow this rule and you can be sure your employees will get the compensation they need.

PS: We strongly recommend you check out the COID Compliance Guide. It has everything you need to fully comply with the COID Act.
