1. Plan and prepare properly:
Notify all parties affected by the audit in writing. Review the previous year's stats so you know your benchmark. And have all your information handy before you start. You can get a full list of the documents you'll need in your Health and Safety Advisor.
2. Arrange a meeting for the audit team:
Identify key role players from each department in your company. Have an audit introduction meeting with the role players, so they know what you expect from them during the audit, and what they can expect from the audit itself.
3. Review the overall handling of incidents on site:
For a list of things to look at, go to your Health and Safety Advisor.
4. Evaluate your risk assessment:
You must evaluate your risk assessments using your company protocol. Your risk assessment protocol should say how your risk assessment was done and how your risk scores were calculated. Check out our Risk Assessment Toolkit
