4. It must help new employees identify hazards and assess risks 
 
Employees should be able to recognise basic hazards by the time they complete the training. This way they'll know what situations to avoid and when to be extra careful.
 
5. It must reduce the likelihood of new employees being in an accident
 
This training must help employees avoid accidents by teaching them how to prevent them. They must do this by following your health and safety procedures.
 
6. It must reduce the likelihood of others having accidents because of other employees' actions
 
If employees understand how they must behave safely, they're less likely to do anything that could hurt another employee. 
 
If your health and safety induction training meets these requirements, it helps keep your employees safe.
