Five ways to make your employees use their PPE
  1. Check that you have given your employees the right PPE. Remember, this means you need to identify your hazards first.
  2. Act as a role model, make sure your manager's use their PPE and set the right example.
  3. Train your employees on how to use, store and maintain their PPE. This prevents them from using the old excuse of 'I don't use my PPE because I don't know how to…'

  1. Teach your employees of the risks associated with not wearing their PPE.
  2. Make sure you include your PPE regulations in your employee policies. Take the right steps to enforce your policies. Turn to P01/003 in our Health & Safety Advisor for more ways on how to make your employees use their PPE.
