If you employ company drivers, make road safety your business. If you don't these are some of the costs you'll incur as a result of road accidents.

There are many costs and losses involved when a driver gets injured, a vehicle is damaged, or if your worker dies in a road accident.

Here's a list of some of the costs you may experience as a result of road accidents

  • Financial loss
  • Medical costs for injuries
  • Death costs
  • Production time loss
  • Loss of the experience of the worker
  • Training costs due to your worker not being able to return to work
  • Vehicle repair or replacement costs
  • Loss of use of the vehicle while it's being repaired or waiting for a new vehicle
  • Increased costs for insurance and liability due to the accident
  • Increased compensation tariffs due to the accident (Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases)
     
  • The cost of training another worker to take over the work
  • The cost of perhaps having to pay an additional salary to another worker while the injured is healing
  • Possible civil liability costs if your company is taken to court.

Don't forget that these accidents also result in trauma, stress and sorrow for your employee's family and friends.
