If your employees do these three things to their safety harnesses they'll damage them
If your employees work at heights you have to give them the right personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect them. This particular PPE is a fall safety harness. It's a vital part of keeping your employees safe.
Without this harness, your employees could fall from the area they're working on. With nothing to stop them from falling, they'll hit the ground and suffer serious injuries.
But if you give your employees fall protection harnesses and they misuse them, they'll be just as ineffective as not having one at all.
And that's why you need to ensure they never do these three things to their safety harnesses...
Ensure your employees never do these three things to their safety harnesses
#1: Don't let your employees over-tighten their harnesses
If your employees over-tighten their harnesses, it could cause the seams to split. This means if your employee does fall, the seams will rip under his full weight.
Rather ensure your employees' harnesses fit them properly so they don't have to over-tighten them. Ensure the safety harnesses are also strong so the seams won't fail easily.

#2: Don't let them pull the harness off instead of undoing it
If your employees pull the harness off over their head, it could stretch it or tear the seams. This means it may not fit them properly and, if they fall, they may slip out of it.
Rather instruct your employees to use the clips to take the harness off and put it on. Ensure the clips are strong and of a good quality so they don't get stuck and force your employees to pull the harness over their heads.
#3: Don't let your employees hang on their harnesses
If your employees misuse their harnesses and think it's fun to climb off the area they're working on and just hang there, this will damage their harnesses. The harnesses must only take their weight if it has to.
Ensure your employees never do these three things when it comes to their fall protection safety gear. Otherwise, you'll need to replace their safety harnesses sooner than you think.
