by , 11 March 2015
On a scale from 1 to 10, how would you rate your effectiveness when it comes to accident prevention?

If you were to give an award for this, would your company be one of the winning ones?

Just think of how often you see something that could hurt somebody and just walk by and do nothing about it.

A workplace where there is bad housekeeping is a place where many accidents happen.

Are you aware of what's at stake? Here's how you can improve your health and safety management system with following tips

Don't ignore the dangerous situations that could harm your employees and yourself. Make everyone understand they are responsible for their actions as they share a workplace.

And I know your next question…

What exactly ARE the 100 questions you should be answering?

And how do they determine if your health and safety system is compliant with the OHSAS18001 standards?
Stop fussing!

We have a solution that does all the thinking for you.

Remind them that bad housekeeping is a "team effort".  One person can't be held responsible for a general situation.

So ask yourself, do your employees adopt this attitude? "Well I didn't put it there, so why should I pick it up" and "The cleaning crew will pick it up later".

These types of thoughts and behaviour are the causes of many accidents, where others are harmed because we don't take responsibility and always think it's somebody else's job to clean up.

Here's how to protect yourself and your employees:

1. Remind people they are not allowed to let things lie around and not pick up after themselves. Doing so is the same as committing a crime against someone else.

2. Housekeeping is everybody's job all the time.

3. If you see the harm that could come to someone else, it's your duty and responsibility to prevent it.

4. If you make a mess, clean it up.

5. Be aware of dangers or situations where others could be hurt and do something to prevent it.
Final Word

If you see the harm that others do, don't delay, make it safe today.
