Effective training: The key to ensuring your employees survive a workplace emergency

by , 19 September 2014
Workplace emergencies such as fire, shootings or structural collapses can result in your employees losing their lives. This is especially true if they don't know what to do when a emergency happens.

The best way to ensure workplace emergencies don't result in your employees losing their lives is to ensure they have proper training.

This will ensure they know what to do, where to go and what'll happen afterwards.

Don't know what kind of training you should give your employees so they survive these emergencies?

Let me tell you...

There are two types of training you must give your employees to survive workplace emergencies

The first and most vital piece of training you must give your employees, is on your evacuation procedures.

Without this training, your employees won't know what they must do when your emergency alarm sounds. You need to ensure they understand how they have to leave the building and where they must go once they get out.

This way you can be sure they survive.

But what happens if any of your employees has an injury?

Well, that's where the other kind of training comes in.

WARNING: Just because you've appointed a first aider and have a first aid kit in your office doesn't mean you've done everything to protect your employees

Do your first aiders know what it is?

The other kind of training your employees need will help them respond if someone has an injury

First aid training isn't for all of your employees. But you must ensure that the employees you appoint for your first aid team have it.

Your first aid team need to know how to deal with emergency situations and any injuries that happen because of it.

There you have it! By giving your employees the right training you can ensure they get out of an emergency situation and that they can get help right away if they have any injuries.
