Where can I get the new ITR12T?

by , 31 October 2014
Earlier this month, SARS introduced a new Income Tax Return for Trusts (ITR12T).

It redesigned and automated the old form (IT12TR) in an effort to help you submit an accurate return and be compliant.

Since its introduction, we've been inundated with questions about the form. And one thing most people want to know is where they can get the new ITR12T.

Read on to find out the answer.

You can get the new ITR12T on eFiling

That's right.
The new ITR12T is available on eFiling.
If you want to see what it looks like, download an example of the form on SARS' website.
Please note that asking SARS to post the form to you is no longer an option. If you aren't registered for eFiling, register so you can complete and send your ITR12T online in a secure environment.
If you visit a SARS branch for help with your ITR12T, you'll need to fill in the fields before going to the branch.

SARS stresses that your ITR12T due date will be determined by how you send it in

  • If you send the form electronically at a SARS branch (provisional and non-provisional), the due date is 21 November 2014;
  • If you're a non-provisional taxpayer who uses eFiling, the due date is 21 November 2014; and
  • If you're a provisional taxpayer who uses eFiling, the due date is 30 January 2015.

So what's the big deal about the new ITR12T?

In this article, we explain that the ITR12T is meant to curb the corruption that plagues Trusts and make things easier for you when it comes to administering your Trust.
