When it comes to job interviews, you need to prepare just as much as the job candidate. And it's not just while you're in conducting an interview. You need to put in work before, during and after the interview. This is Interviews 101. And if you don't make sure you cover these basics, your company's recruiting process could fail and land you with the wrong candidate.

Employment Contracts, Recruiting and Independent Contractors…
Make sure you use a legally correct recruitment procedure and updated employment contracts in your company.
There's a fine line between determining whether someone is an independent contractor or an employee. Don't get caught out.
Use this independent contractor policy and checklist to ensure you get it right every time!

Interviews 101: Here's what you need to do before and during the job interview

Before the interview
Before an interview you need to do interview prep. This includes looking through the candidate's CV very carefully.
You must go through it and develop your questions. You must make these job interview questions as specific to each candidate as you possibly can.
Don't just use predictable easy questions because candidates can prepare and rehearse their answers for these. Be clever about how you create your questions.
During the interview
During the interview you need to look and behave in a way that really represents your company. You must follow an interview dress code the same way the candidate does. This even applies to video call interviews over Skype.
To help you remember everything you want to ask the candidate, create and use an interview checklist.
But don't think your job is over even when the interview ends. Here's what you have to do after the interview….
The ideal tool to recruit, manage and motivate employees!
Use the A-Z of Master Forms recruitment templates to find the IDEAL candidate. Use the HR forms and templates to MANAGE and MOTIVATE him to perform at his best.
The A-Z of Master Forms and Templates provides a simple, legal and effective way to ensure the development, motivation and retention of excellent employees.
It would take you weeks to draw up all these forms, samples and checklists from scratch.

Interviews 101: Here's what you need to do after the job interview

After the interview
This is possibly the most important part. This is when you need to do background and reference checks to make sure everything lines up.
If you don't do these things, you may end up hiring someone who misrepresented themselves in the interview.
So cover all of these interview basics and the whole process will go a lot smoother from beginning to end.
