Three DOS of Skype and telephone interviews

Here are some of the DOs you should remember when you do Skype or telephone interviews:
- Skype video calls are a definite 'do'. Being able to see whether the job candidate is prepared and has followed proper interview dress code can help evaluate them.

The DONTS of Skype and telephone interviews

Here are some of the DON'TS you must remember when you do Skype and telephone interviews:
- Don't conduct an entire interview just on the phone. This will make you and the candidate very restless. They could be doing other research or work while talking to you. Rather call through a computer or tablet to do a video call so they can sit comfortably and you can see them face-to-face.
- Don't get distracted or take other calls during the interview. Just because the candidate isn't in the same room as you, it doesn't mean they shouldn't have your full attention.
- Don't disregard normal interview dress code when conducting an interview via video call. You're still representing the whole company and you may give the candidate the wrong idea about it, should you look sloppy or underdressed.
Use these Skype and telephone interviews tips to easily convert to using technology when you're looking for the best candidates for the job.
