When it comes to your office, doing risk assessments properly is just as important as any other kind of work place. 
And you can use these guidelines to make sure you're doing it correctly:
 
1. Make sure you fully understand what's required in your health and safety plan.
 
2. Walk around your office when it's quiet and see if you can spot any obvious risks. These may be things like exposed wires or piles of paper on the floor that people could trip over. 
 
3. Next, talk to supervisors and staff members because they may experience workplace hazards you hadn't even noticed.
 
4. Talk to the cleaning staff and inspect what they use to clean the office with. This will help you find out if there are any hazards related to cleaning. This may be that floors are very slippery when they're wet or maybe that a cleaning product gives off strong fumes. 
 
5. A final and important step, as suggested by Health and Safety Advisor, is that you check old accident reports. These will help you spot any risks that have previously been a problem.
