Don't look like a fool! Know these 3 important changes to the TCC application process
As part of a modernised tax compliance process to prevent fraud and the misuse of TCC's, SARS introduced an improved TCC application process in its branches as well as on eFiling.
They have thus made several changes to the application process.
If you're unaware of them, you risk not only wasting SARS' time, but also your own. Because at the end of the day, time is money. And you certainly don't want to be caught out and left hanging dry by
SARS on your TCC application simply because you didn't bother to view the changes and ended up following outdated and now-incorrect procedure.
Having said that, here are 3 changes that have been made in the new TCC application process, which you should know...
1. Application submissions

SARS DOESN'T accept posted, faxed or emailed TCC applications any longer! So don't even bother as you'll only waste your own time.
You have to either apply through eFIling or at a SARS branch.
2. FIA and emigration applications
If you require a TCC for Foreign Investment Allowance (FIA),
or for emigration, then you can ONLY do so at a SARS branch.
3. TCC's which can't be finalised
If SARS receives a TCC which it can't finalise or approve immediately, then they'll send it away for review.
They'll then tell you of the outcome, via email, within 5 business days.
And so it's recommended that you provide ALL of your supporting documents at the beginning to speed up the whole process.
*Remember that failure to abide by these changes will lead to SARS not considering or unnecessarily delaying your application.
