The printer just electrocuted Jane! What should your employees do?

There are dangers all around your workplace. Any of the equipment your employees use every day could suddenly cause an emergency situation.

Let's say, your employees Jane is printing documents. Your printer is old and no one knows it but there's a problem with its electrical parts. And so, as Jane touches the printer it gives her a massive shock.

This is a have emergency situation because the shock could kill her! So what should your employees do?

Here's what your employees should do if a colleague suffers an electric shock

 
The first thing your employees must do is alert your first aider. If Jane's heart stopped because of the shock, the first aider must give her CPR to try to get her heart to start again. 
 
Your other employees MUSTN'T try give her CPR themselves if they don't have the right training for this. But they can help your first aider by fetching any equipment she may need to perform first aid.
 
But while the first aider is busy, they must also do this...

Your employees must call emergency services immediately

 
Your employees must call the paramedics as soon as the accident happens. Your first aider can only do so much to help Jane – she will need proper medical attention. 
 
Your employees can also create a barrier around the dangerous printer so no one else touches it and has the same shock. They should also call a trained electrician to deal with the printer. 
 
If your employees follow this process, they can help save Jane's life and ensure no one else has a similar accident. So train them on what to do.
